Pay
Day
Pay
Day Either daily or weekly, depending on the ages of the
children. At least one day a week is designated as Payday.
Payday is a balancing and budgeting time for all Kudo
Kash earned that week. Earnings and expenses are calculated
and Kudo Kash is received for services rendered and paid
out for services received. A parent is the banker. Maid
Service and Janitor cards are traded among family members
with those who owe paying the person who holds one of
their Maid Service cards, etc. All remaining Kudo Kash
is then budgeted and used to pay bills or saved for upcoming
expenditures. Kudo Kash should only be traded for real
currency when a child needs to buy something in the real
world. By using Kudo Kash instead of real money the parent
can give advice and guidance before money is spent wastefully.
However, the final decision should usually be left up
to the child so that the consequences of poor choices
will be experienced. Failing financially can be a very
enlightening experience for a child. Only when the child
really has a choice will he/she feel the responsibility
of making a wise choice. |
